Renewable Energy and Conservation Research, Education and Extension in the Northeast
The Northeast has research, education and extension programming expertise in the area of sustainable renewable energy and conservation. However, it is not adequately coordinated nor recognized. A central clearing house/database would encourage collaboration, increase the cross-flow of information between researchers, and between researchers and public and private agencies. It would also have the potential to enhance our educational and extension programs and be a useful tool for researchers and other interested parties. This database resource, being developed by the Northeast Regional Association of State Agricultural Experiment Station Directors, the NASULGC Council for Agricultural, Research, Extension and Teaching, and Cooperative Extension directors around the Northeast, will fill the information gap and maximize our region’s responsiveness and impact.
Strong regional collaborations, such as the Sun Grant Initiative, have helped to establish and strengthen networks. This project will enhance the existing networks favored by granting agencies and other public and private funding sources. This information database will link the work being done by researchers, faculty and educators in the Northeast, positioning the region for a further influx of dollars and resources to develop and deliver renewable energy and conservation efforts.
It is vital that you take the time to complete this survey as it will provide the first reliable, searchable clearinghouse/database of most, if not all, expertise and programs in renewable energy and conservation across the region. It will be accessible by university, public and private agencies, media and individuals. We expect it will be widely used so it is in your benefit to take the time to respond.
Participation in this survey is completely elective. As with any electronic form, there is a chance that data you submit might be read by a third party. We will share the information collected only through channels approved by the Northeast Research, Academics and Extension Directors.
